Climbing Club Jr

Climbing Club Jr is designed for kids ages 4-7 who want to climb and have fun while doing so. Participants should expect an active fitness experience that introduces kids to the sport of climbing who might be too young for our other youth programs.

Through games, creative challenges and skill building activities, participants will learn and develop basic climbing skills/technique and increase self-confidence.

The first practice is FREE for those who are interested in signing up monthly for the program and have never tried it before only if confirmed through email with Erica first.

If you have any questions or would like to sign up for this program please contact us at ericaf@centralrockgym.com.

FAQs

  • Advanced registration is required! Please email ericaf@centralrockgym.com to inquire about availability.
  • All participants need the Central Rock Gym Worcester Participation Agreement, Bouldering Orientation Form, and Auto Belay Orientation Form. Fill these out ahead of time HERE to save time! All three forms are required for kids to climb.

A regular membership is included when a child signs up for one of our youth programs, so you can bring them in as often as they want to outside of their weekly scheduled Climbing Club session. You would just have to be the supervisor at that point.

What they can do during a free climb session depends on your certifications.

If you don’t know how to belay yet, you can always use the belay class that is on your child’s membership (that they are too young to take anyway) and learn how to belay them up the tall walls. If that’s not something that interests you, your child would still be able to boulder on the short walls as well as use the auto belays to get up some of the taller walls. You would just need to receive our auto belay orientation in order to know what to know how to clip them in properly.

Yes! We understand that life happens and you won’t be able to make it to every class every single week. Make ups are allowed on the other day we offer the program, we just ask that you communicate with us ahead of time that you will be coming a different day than usual so we can staff accordingly.

Yes, we offer our youth teams year round. We only require a month-to-month commitment, so kids can join and drop as it fits their schedules. We have some kids who have been doing our programs for the past 3 years straight through, and we have kids that just join on through the winter months as their activity between fall and spring sports.
