Crumpet FAQs
A crumpet is a traditional British griddle bread made from unsweetened flour and milk batter. It is characterized by a flat crispy bottom and a top filled with tiny pores making it perfect for smothering with butter and jam.
Traditionally, crumpets should not be sliced. They are designed to be toasted whole and eaten open faced so their bubbly top layer can absorb and hold melted butter while the inside stays soft and warm. But hey, you do you!
