What is the MoonBoard?
The MoonBoard is a globally recognized indoor climbing training board that connects to a mobile app, allowing climbers to train on preset routes or create custom problems.
Using the MoonBoard App, climbers can:
- Access a massive library of standardized climbing problems
- Log completed ascents in a personal climbing logbook
- Rate problems and compare difficulty
- Track progress and view global rankings
MoonBoards are typically installed at a 25° or 40° overhang, making them ideal for building power, finger strength, and advanced technique. The board uses specific hold sets, and your experience will depend on which setup is installed at your gym.
Depending on the hold set, climbers get access to a worldwide database of 20,000 to 81,000+ boulder problems, making it one of the most extensive climbing training systems available.Check with your local CRG to see which MoonBoard angle and hold set they offer.
Difficulty Level: Advanced
Grades can vary due to global user submissions, but most MoonBoard problems start around V3-V4, making it best suited for experienced climbers.
