At the same time, team members develop competition strategy, hone their route reading abilities, and finely tune an effective competition mindset. Members of this team who demonstrate high levels of self-awareness and motivation are able to develop greater individualization in their training programs, with the collaboration of their coaches, to best meet their goals. With the help of their coaches and a structured training regimen, climbers will see significant progress in their climbing ability.

Tryouts

Tryouts occur during the last week of August and first week of September. Use the calendar at the bottom of the page to book a tryout session that works for you.

Tryout sessions are 2.5 hours in length and structured as a practice – athletes will be coached through warm up routines, a projecting session, drills/activities, and strength training.

Athletes will be assessed based on their mindset, coachability, and climbing IQ/capacity. Our coaches will use this assessment to determine whether the athlete is compatible with our team culture and would benefit from our programming.

We ask that people not book a tryout if they could not commit to meeting the practice schedule (see Weekly Schedule tab above) and expectations as described.

Please complete this intake form when booking a tryout session (if you have not previously completed an interest form).

Tryout sessions cost a non-refundable $50 per participant. Should a participant be accepted into the program, their tryout fee will roll into their first month’s dues.

Booking a trial session does not guarantee program placement. Coaches will inform participants of their decision after every prospective participant has completed their tryout session, and no decisions are made until everyone has tried out.

Our calendar tool is a little finnicky and defaults to the current month. Please scroll to August/September to see the tryout dates available.
