Mid-Winter Break Program

School may be out, but it’s still cold and kids have to keep moving! This MidWinter break (February 16th to 20th), send your kids to us so they can get all the constructive (and sometimes destructive) energy out in the gym instead of your apartment!

We will give your kids (ages 7 to 12) a taste of of what our week-long summer vacation programs feel like. Our program takes a comprehensive and wholistic approach to climbing, suitable for new and experienced climbers alike, by focusing on group activities and challenges, social/emotional maturity, and fun, climbing based games to reinforce technical skills on the wall. Return participants will also be given individual fitness challenges to try and work through.

Children may be 6 at the time of registration, but must be 7 years old when the program starts.

Schedule

Our MidWinter Break program books on a day by day basis and runs between Monday, 2/16 and Friday, 2/20.
Each Day run from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM

Additional Information

  • Closed toe shoes or sneakers
  • Socks
  • Comfortable, flexible clothing (yoga pants, leggings, sweatpants, long gym shorts, t-shirts, tank tops, etc.) No skirts, please!

  • Enough water for the length of the program
  • A simple snack (2 if staying for an extended day) and lunch
  • Older children may be sent with money to purchase pizza from Pepperinos, next door.

  • Climbing shoes and harness that will be dedicated to an individual child for the week
  • A sanitized cubby space for each child to store their belongings

There are several documents that we need to have completed for every child before they can participate in our program. The first three documents are completely digital, and are sent to our system automatically upon completion. These are:

8:00 AM to 8:30 AM – Check in
8:30 AM – 9:00 AM Warm up. Warmups take place in Waterline Square Park if the weather is permissible.
9:00 AM to 9:45 AM – Climbing skill introduction
9:45 AM to 10:30 AM – Breakout Group Bouldering activity to reinforce learned skill
10:30 AM to 11:00 AM – Snack break & “Tabletop” challenges . Board games, arts & crafts, etc….
11:00 AM to 12:00 PM – Group Rope Climbing activity
12:00 PM to 1:00 PM – Lunch. Lunch take place in Waterline Square Park if the weather is permissible.
1:00 PM to 2:00 PM – Climbing mini-games
2:00 PM – 2:30 PM – Group fitness challenges & cool down

Central Rock Gym welcomes participants of all abilities and skill levels! In order to ensure a fun and successful week for your child, please inform the staff of any special needs your child has, which may include severe allergies, disabilities, behavioral issues, health conditions or pre-existing injuries. The more we know about your child, the better we can help them enjoy their week.
