FAQs and Rules
Modified redpoint-style competition. Each category has 15 scorable problems with point values based on difficulty. Climbers have their full 2.5-hour session to attempt any problems they want. Your top 5 sends count toward your final score. Bonus points for flashing.
– Points are earned by completing a problem from start to finish (must control final hold with both hands). If a hold spins or breaks, step off immediately or the attempt will count.
– All volumes and aretes are on (unless otherwise noted)
– If you use a hold or volume that is “off route”, no points can be earned and the attempt will be marked.
– Ties will be broken with number of attempts.
– If you have any comments, questions, or concerns, feel free to speak with a member of Central Rock Gym Staff.
– Please be aware that competitors will be disqualified if they have consumed any alcohol before or during the climbing portion.
– Climbers under the age of 13 may not boulder, except those who are approved members of the Central Rock Gym climbing team or current members of USA Climbing.
If most of your climbing sessions you complete more than a climb harder than your bracket on a regular basis, register up. V3-V4 climbers who occasionally flash a V5: stay in V3-V5
No. We want to keep as leveling a playing field as possible for everyone participating, and also prioritize the experience of current session participants by avoiding overcrowding. Everyone will be asked to leave as soon as their session is over, but will be allowed to return to spectate during Open category Finals and for the prize distribution/raffle.
We will use our mass e-mail system to notify all participants if they qualified for Finals or placed on the podium, so please make sure the e-mail address you submit with your account is current and correct. We will also ask any Open competitor to write down their phone number on their scorecard.
No. We are allowing a maximum of one spectator per participant, but spectators may not make use of any part of the facility.

Session 3 is our community round. It does not qualify for finals, but it is cheaper ($25 members / $30 non-members) and the energy is the best of the day. Come climb, send hard, and stick around for finals.
