FAQs

The competition will follow a standard “redpoint” format for all climbers:

Every climber has 3 hours to climb whichever climbs they would like, with the goal of completing at least 5.

Each climb is assigned a point value based on difficulty, and each climbers’ 5 highest-valued completed climbs count towards their final score.

The number of attempts each climber needs to finish each climb will be recorded, with the total number of attempts for their top 5 climbs being used for tie-breakers.

In the event of a tie when factoring points AND number of attempts, the point value of each climbers 6th highest climb will be used to break the tie

Yes! The simplest answer is – if during the majority of your climbing sessions you are able to complete more than 2 climbs that are harder than “your bracket” on a regular basis, you should register for the next bracket up. However, if you are a V3-V4 climber (for example), and you get lucky with a V5 that just perfectly first your style every once in a while, comfortably register for the V3-V4 category.

No. We want to keep as leveling a playing field as possible for everyone participating, and also prioritize the experience of current session participants by avoiding overcrowding. Everyone will be asked to leave as soon as their session is over, but will be allowed to return to spectate during Open category Finals and for the prize distribution/raffle.

We will use our mass e-mail system to notify all participants if they qualified for Finals or placed on the podium, so please make sure the e-mail address you submit with your Waiver is current and correct.
