The Intro to Sport class is designed to teach those interested in taking the next step to begin outdoor lead climbing or ‘sport climbing’ and all associated setup elements. This class is just what you need if you have been itching to begin outdoor rope climbing!
Learn our third and most advanced type of climbing offered in the gym. During lead climbing, one person uses a rope off the ground to belay for a climber who clips to the wall for safety until they reach the top.
Come take our Intro Belay Class. Learn to ‘belay’; the method of holding a rope system for a climber to catch them if they fall, and learn the knots required to tie into a rope end as a climber. This is required to use the high wall ‘top rope’ climbs without a staff or an experienced and certified climber.
