Mito Action Event
Mito Action & Central Rock Gym are coming together to host a fundraising and climbing event. Participants from Mito Action and Team Thomas will be coming to climb and making donations to support those with Mitochondrial Disease.
• Advanced registration required.
• Special discounted rate of $15 including harness, shoes, and belay equipment.
• Experienced climbers will assist with climbing at all times.
• 100% proceeds will be going to Mito Action
• 10am – 1pm Sunday April 29th
Volunteers should arrive around 9:45am to help facilitate check-in & gearing up. Participants and their families will be arriving at 10am. We will have CRG Staff + Volunteers take groups of climbers and their families around the gym to climb from 10am – 12pm. From 12pm – 1pm volunteers & participants can hang out, have pizza and learn more about Mito and events to help or support.
Volunteers: CRG Members are encouraged to volunteer to help belay! If you will volunteer as a community member or are coming as part of the Mito group to belay and not climb, register as a volunteer.

What is Mito?
Mitochondrial disease is an inherited chronic illness that can be present at birth or develop later in life. It causes debilitating physical, developmental, and cognitive disabilities with symptoms including poor growth; loss of muscle coordination; muscle weakness and pain; seizures; vision and/or hearing loss; gastrointestinal issues; learning disabilities; and organ failure. It is estimated that 1 in 4,000 people has Mito. It’s progressive and there is no cure.
