The Adult Training Program (ATP) is a 16-week program meant to introduce adult athletes to periodized training for climbing. The 16-week schedule will build athletes through a linear training progression of building strength, power, and endurance. This program will include both coached and independent skill drills, mental strategy building, weight-room exercises, and use of climbing-specific training tools such as hangboards and campus boards. ATP participants should be climbing at a minimum level of 5.10 on lead, and V4 on boulders prior to participating in the program. Sign-ups are by invitation/application, and at the discretion of the coach to ensure that all members are ready to commit to the full program.
Commitment: 16 weeks. Two 2-hour coached practices per week (Tuesday 7-9pm and Sunday 5-7pm). One uncoached training session to be completed on own/with other participants Weds-Sat of that week.
First Practice: Tuesday 9/5. Runs until Thursday 12/28
Registration: Apply to join the ATP by contacting pcooke@centralrockgym.com. Because we are limiting the size of the group to six participants, applications will be evaluated and invites made based on the coach’s discretion of who will be the best fit for the program.
