Adaptive Climbing

Adaptive Climbing programs open the door for people with permanent disabilities to have opportunities to participate in the sport of climbing. If you have a permanent disability that limits normal daily function physically and developmentally, then you are an Adaptive Climber! We welcome casual climbers and those who are interested in competing.

At Central Rock Gym Rochester, we partner with Adaptive Climbing Group to offer climbing sessions 4x per month.

Or maybe a private session at a custom time is more your speed? We can do that, too!

We’re proud to partner with Adaptive Climbing Group to offer Adaptive Climbing Sessions here at CRG Rochester!

These volunteer run sessions cost just $10 to attend, and are held four times a month:

  • 2nd Tuesday of the month, 6:30 – 8:30pm
  • 3rd Tuesday of the month, 6:30 – 8:30pm
  • 4th Tuesday of the month, 6:30 – 8:30pm
  • 4th Sunday of the month, 10:00am – 1:00pm

Become a Volunteer

Are you wondering how you can get involved as a volunteer with Adaptive Climbing Group? We’re always on the lookout for passionate folks who are interested in helping out!

All it takes to become a volunteer is to be belay certified at CRG, and to attend a volunteer training session. We offer a training session on the 3rd Tuesday of every month.

We are dedicated to making our community inclusive and climbing accessible for all. Our CRG staff members and Adaptive Climbing Group Volunteers have received specialized training in Adaptive Climbing techniques to better assist customers with disabilities. We welcome anyone interested to give climbing a try!

The use of adaptive equipment requires setup by trained staff, so advance notice is needed if you require the use of specific equipment. Please email Jason at [email protected], with any questions or concerns, or if you’d like to stop in!
