Climbing Instructor

Availablility: Part Time

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Climbing Instructor! As a Climbing Instructor, you will foster a welcoming environment by providing exceptional group climbing instruction to our members and guests, ensuring a smooth flow of group class instruction for an outstanding CRG community experience.

Responsibilities:

• Teach all top rope, lead classes, and climbing progression program classes by utilizing CRG/CWA provided class program curriculum
• Substitute for other group classes occasionally
• Create a fun and inclusive space in classes
• Prepare equipment before and after class, making sure the class space is tidied up and that participants leave equipment in usable condition for the next class
• Other duties as required/assigned by your manager

Requirements:

• Flexible schedule – ability to work nights and weekends and some Holidays 
• 3+ years teaching experience and current CWA certification (or equivalent), or desire to attain certification upon employment with CRG
• Knowledge and understanding of specified climbing programs, top rope and lead climbing strongly preferred
• Friendly, approachable, and patient personality 
• Ability to work with larger groups of individuals with varying skills while being mindful of time constraints 
• Strong communication, organization, and excellent customer service 
• Climbing specific knowledge helpful but not required
• Self-motivated to work, self-directed and independent
• Ability to take feedback and provide constructive feedback to participants 

Compensation:

• Part-time, $20hr
