Join us this fall season for another bouldering competition!
Rocktoberfest is a four week long bouldering competition running from October 3rd to October 28th. The qualifying rounds will take place during the first three weeks followed by a finals round on Friday, October 28th from 6-8pm. Join us for an afterparty following finals from 8-10pm! Throughout the night members of the community will be showcasing their art, music, local businesses, and more! The festivities will begin as early as 5pm. Support our Rocktoberfest finalists as we all come together for this community event!
For three consecutive Mondays (the 3rd, 10th, and 17th) our setters will put up 12 different competition boulders. Each boulder will have a point score, with harder boulders scoring more points. Participants will have from Monday at 5pm until close on the following Sunday to complete their boulders.
Separate scorecards will be given out for each week of qualifying rounds. Check in with the front desk to receive your scorecards. We cannot give out new scorecards to participants after they have already received them for the week. Scorecards MUST be turned in to the front desk by 8pm on Sunday in order to be counted! Make sure to count your attempts on each boulder. In the case of a tie, we will use the number of attempts as a tie-breaker.
Make sure to mark down which gender and skill category (Beginner VB-V3, Intermediate V4-V6, or Advanced V7+) that is most fitted to your climbing ability. There is no age requirement to compete. We will monitor the scores and move participants to different categories if necessary. Scorecards will be based on an honest policy. Please fill out your scores truthfully!
Following the qualifying rounds, we will tally up the results and those with the five highest scores in each category will participate in finals round! During finals on Friday the 28th, participants will compete in an onsight round. Each competitor will attempt 3 boulders, with 4 minutes on each boulder and 4 minutes of rest in between. Spectators are welcome!
