Corporate Team Building Workshops

TEAM BUILDING AT CRG

Let Central Rock Climbing Gym give your employees a chance to have a safe, challenging, and FUN team building experience at our new state of the art climbing facility.  Our team building program will challenge your employees to work together, communicate, and trust each other in new and exciting ways.

Schedule of Events:

Sign-In and Site Orientation: Group members will check in, sign waivers, change and be fitted with the appropriate climbing gear (harness, climbing shoes).  Members will then assemble in the conference room to go over schedule and set goals for the day.

Safety Review: Members will then be given a safety class to learn proper knot tying skills, belaying skills, and appropriate commands for the climbing gym environment.

Small team climbing challenge: Members will pair off and climb a variety of routes that require intense communication between the belayer and climber.
Second small team challenge: Members will change partners and climb again, forcing them to communicate with a variety of members in a challenging environment.

Break and Review: Group will assemble back in the conference room for refreshments and a discussion of lessons learned.

Large Group Challenges: Central Rock Gym staff will propose a variety of large group challenges (5-10 in each group) for the final portion of the day.  The group will decide which event/s they would like to take on.  To include, but not limited to:

  • Speed Climbing Challenge - Groups are randomly selected and teams are formed in a timed exercise. Each team will record their participant’s time on 2 different routes. Speed is the focus. Teams then compare their aggregated times to determine the winner. The focus of this exercise is group cohesion.
  • Trust Rappel - Have you ever leaned backwards over a 35 foot ledge? If you haven't this experience can be incredibly nerve wracking. To foster the trust bond between co-workers we will have a partner actually hold the rope that lowers the climber to the ground. Post exercise facilitation is suggested.
  • Climbing Blindfolded - Participants are completely blindfolded and asked to climb routes while partners on the ground are instructing the climber on how and where to climb. The focus of this exercise is communication development between the various participants.

AAR-After Action Review: The participants will meet back in the conference room for one last meeting.  Food may be provided, or catered as your company prefers.

Cost per person: $40
